Having wowed the country’s leading thinkers, developers and decision makers with his templates to enhance the way we live, Dubai is set to be the debut location for the first-ever full-scale versions of the W.E.T.E.R and Gorod L.E.S patents. Its ambitious plans to create a paperless, fast track, high-tech city competing with the most advanced cities in the world, plus its unique weather and high levels of wind, make the innovative Emirate an ideal fit for this revolutionary concept.

What is W.E.T.E.R?

A first-of-its-kind building that uses wind energy to produce electricity in the amount of 200% of its own needs, the prototype of W.E.T.E.R was a result of the inventors’ dream to kick start an era of carbon free energy. Currently more than 80% of electricity generation comes from non-renewable energy sources, such as coal and gas and, according to the UN, by 2025 humanity will need twice as much.

Wind energy is environmentally friendly, renewable and has potential for widespread use, as wind can be found across the globe. Developing a more sustainable and urban friendly alternative to traditional wind turbines, Denis Tiaglin and his team created W.E.T.E.R, incorporating an alterative wind turbine design which is noiseless, generates power at lower wind speeds (4 m/s), with workability reliant on wind flow direction and with the ability to store gravity energy.

Meaning that wind energy can be harnessed in cities with little or no impact to residents has lead to widespread interest around the world. 17,117 people have signed up as co-owners since W.E.T.E.R went public and the Russian Military have shown interest to use this wind-efficient solution in the Arctic and awarded Russian inventor Denis Tiaglin a diploma for his innovation.

What is Gorod L.E.S?

Designed to exist in fast-paced cities alongside W.E.T.E.R wind generating buildings, Gorod L.E.S seamlessly streamlines the infrastructure of daily life into one advanced urban living concept. It offers a sustainable way to build communities and ultimately overcome the world’s energy crisis through optimising the placement of infrastructure facilities and their functioning.

Divided into four layers set above the earth’s surface. Gorod L.E.S incorporates a ground level natural landscape of parks, paths, lakes and green open spaces for outdoor play, exercise and relaxation; a passenger and logistics level encompassing all the daily needs of contemporary living including a mall, libraries, restaurants, gyms, sports stadiums and cinemas; a communication level; and a transport and logistics level - it has been hailed as an innovative new template in city designing and building by the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences.

The Gorod L.E.S model presents a new aesthetic image of a city and the advantages of compact placement of urban infrastructure. It will lead the way in determining new living trends for compact smart cities that reduce their carbon impact on the environment without losing a sense of community.

W.E.T.E.R and Gorod L.E.S were presented to the United Arab Emirates at WETEX & Dubai Solar Show on 10am-6pm 5-7th October, 2021 at Dubai Exhibition Centre EXPO 2020 Dubai – Stand NQ26, Al Wasl Hall, North 2A.

Entrepreneur, engineer, contemporary inventor and change-maker Denis Tiaglin has spent his 20-year career creating technological solutions. From his early years working as a mechanic in his native Russia to his sustainable urban lifestyle concepts W.E.T.E.R and Gorod L.E.S, he is determined to enhance the way we live.

Born in 1980 in the Novosibirisk region of South-west Siberia, Russia, Denis was encouraged to aim high by his accomplished parents – economist mother Nezhdanova Tatiana Germanovna and mechanical engineer father, Tiaglin Valentin Stepanovich. His father passed away when he was 11 years old but not before passing on a love of engineering, construction and cleverly-designed cars.

Denis followed in his father’s footsteps training as a mechanical engineer and tinkering with cars from a young age – taking them apart and putting them back together. It was around this time he fell in love with his first Mercedes Benz, the only cars he now drives, for their focus on safety and their care of their customers – a business prototype he believes has carried him through his career.

From mechanical engineering to construction, Denis opened his first development and construction company in 2008 building a client base that included the Russian Government and overseeing a team of over 250 people. He continued to rise in business at a stratospheric pace, starting other companies including After Systems and working on high-scale projects, introducing new ways of living across Russia.

In 2014, he made the life changing decision to step away from his companies to focus and  immerse himself in the life of an inventor. After years of observing how people were living, how the stress of day-to-day life was increasing, communities were breaking down and the impact centuries of energy consumption was having on the planet – he decided to do something about it.

A first-of-its-kind building that uses wind energy to produce electricity in the amount of 200% of its own needs, the prototype of W.E.T.E.R was a result of Denis’ drive to kick start an era of carbon free energy. Similarly, Gorod L.E.S, where the infrastructure of daily life is seamlessly streamlined into one advanced urban living concept, will offer a sustainable way to build communities and ultimately overcome the world’s energy crisis through optimising the placement of infrastructure facilities and their functioning.

Since their inception and completion in 2019, Denis has patented his revolutionary inventions globally and presented W.E.T.E.R and Gorod L.E.S to the Russian Military who have shown interest to use his wind-efficient solutions in the Arctic and awarded him a diploma for his innovation.

Having wowed the UAE’s leading thinkers, Dubai is set to be the first location for Denis’ W.E.T.E.R and Gorod L.E.S concepts. With ambitious plans to create a paperless, fast track, high-tech city, competing with the most advanced cities in the world, plus its unique weather which includes high levels of wind, the UAE’s innovative Emirate was the perfect fit for such a revolutionary idea.
